Laos has adjusted validity of type 1 and type 2 certificate since 04 August 2023. Type 1 equipment has 3-year validity regarding TA cert and Acknowledgement letter of DoC. Meanwhile Type 2 equipment has 1-year validity regarding TA cert and/or Acknowledgement letter of DoC due to the current situation of Laos has various kinds of equipment such as authentic, fake and bad quality devices which may result in risk and intervention with other networks and equipment.
Laos Type 1 equipment mainly concentrates on Mobile/ Maritime/ Airline/ Radio/ TV communication devices, Base stations, Repeaters, etc. (support 2G, 3G, WCDMA, 4G, 5G, 5G NR, etc.) In the meantime, Type 2 equipment comprises Short Range Devices, Smart TVs, Smartwatch, Computer, Fax, Modem, Router, Hub, Switch, Lithium battery, etc.
